O árbitro suíço Massimo Busacca foi nomeado pelo Comité de Arbitragem da UEFA para dirigir a final da UEFA Champions League entre Manchester United FC e FC Barcelona, esta quarta-feira, no Stadio Olimpico, em Roma.
Equipa suíça
Busacca, de 40 anos e natural de Monte Carasso, no sul do país, numa região da Suíça onde se fala italiano, terá como auxiliares os compatriotas Matthias Arnet e Francesco Buragina. O quarto árbitro vai ser Claudio Circhetta, também helvético.
Experiência
Busacca é árbitro internacional desde 1999 e apitou 77 jogos das competições europeias até ao momento. Desse lote, 32 são referentes à UEFA Champions League, seis dos quais no decorrer da presente época. Entre outros, arbitrou a segunda mão dos quartos-de-final entre FC Porto e United, no Porto, bem como o encontro da segunda mão dos oitavos-de-final, entre Panathinaikos FC e Villarreal CF, em Atenas. Também esteve presente na final da edição 2006/07 da Taça UEFA, disputada entre o RCD Espanyol e o Sevilla FC, em Glasgow.
Jogos de selecções
Director de uma empresa e hábil esquiador, Busacca também arbitrou vários jogos entre selecções ao mais alto nível, incluindo a meia-final do UEFA EURO 2008™ entre a Alemanha e a Turquia, e o desafio dos oitavos-de-final do Mundial de 2006 entre Argentina e México.
